Getting Started

Set up Lumeix in the right order.

This guide walks through Caséta setup, enabling integration, importing your Integration Report, building scenes, and triggering scenes from ProPresenter (RossTalk), Bitfocus Companion (RossTalk/HTTP), and Art-Net.

Tip: Static bridge IP recommended
1

Caséta bridge + Lutron app

Connect hardware + name devices
  • Hardwire your Caséta bridge to your network (recommended).
  • Set a static IP for the bridge on your router/network side to avoid future confusion.
  • In the Lutron app, add devices and name them exactly how you want them to appear in Lumeix.
Enable integration + send report
  • Lutron app → Settings (cog) → Advanced → Integration
  • Toggle Telnet Support ON
  • Tap Send Integration Report and email it to yourself (or an inbox accessible on the Mac running Lumeix)
Important: You’ll paste this Integration Report into Lumeix in Step 3.

Account + subscription

Create your account
  • Open Lumeix — you’ll see the sign-in window.
  • Click Create an Account → fill out the form → Sign Up.
Start your subscription
  • Your browser should open the payment portal automatically.
  • If it doesn’t open, click Subscribe in Lumeix.
  • After payment succeeds, return to Lumeix and click Refresh Verification.
Once verification completes, the main window opens. Then you’re ready to connect the bridge.

Connect Lumeix to your bridge

Enter bridge connection settings
  • In Lumeix: SettingsBridge Connection
  • Find bridge IP: Lutron app → Settings → Advanced → Integration → Network Settings
  • Enter IP, username, and password → click Save Connection Settings
Username: lutron Password: integration
Import the Integration Report
  • In Lumeix Settings, open Integration Report.
  • Open your email and copy the report text only.
  • Do not include email signatures like “Sent from my iPhone”. Extra text can break the import.
  • Back in Lumeix: click PasteSave Report.
Final step: Fully quit Lumeix and reopen it so the imported report loads correctly. When Lumeix reopens, it should sign you in automatically (give it ~20 seconds).

Devices + naming

  • You’ll see your devices with faders and ID numbers.
  • Tap the lock icon to rename devices inside Lumeix (optional).
Names/zones changed in Lumeix do not change names in the Lutron app, HomeKit, or other integrations.

Build scenes

  • Main Window → ScenesEdit Scenes (opens Scene Builder)
  • Click + New Scene and name it
  • Click + Add Step → choose device → set intensity → set fade time (seconds)
  • Repeat + Add Step to include more devices
  • Use Run Scene to preview while building
  • If you don’t see a new scene after closing the builder, press Refresh in the Scenes window
If fades feel choppy, use longer fade times. House light hardware varies — slower usually looks smoother.

Trigger scenes

Enable the integrations you’ll use
  • Lumeix Settings → Security → enable RossTalk and/or HTTP (as needed).
Copy commands/URLs
  • Settings → API Integration → click any scene command/URL to copy it.
If you’re not using an integration, leave it off. Cleaner setup, fewer surprises.

ProPresenter (RossTalk)

Add Lumeix as a RossTalk device
  • Same network required: ProPresenter and Lumeix must be on the same network (same computer is fine).
  • ProPresenter → Settings → Devices → +RossTalk
  • Behavior: Controller • Action: Connect To • Via: Any
  • Address: Mac running Lumeix (Lumeix → About → Host)
  • Port:
7788
Trigger scenes using Macros
  • Open Macros (the [M] icon near the preview monitor)
  • Click + to create a Macro (recommended: name it the same as the Lumeix scene)
  • Right-click the Macro → Add Action → Communication → (your RossTalk device) → Custom Control
  • Custom Control format:
SCENE (your scene name in Lumeix)
Make sure RossTalk lockout is OFF in Lumeix Security Settings.

Art-Net

Enable Art-Net output
  • Lumeix Settings → Art-Net → toggle ON
  • Enter the IP of the computer running your lighting software
  • Recommended defaults (unless you know what you’re doing):
UDP Port: 6454 Net: 0 Subnet: 0
  • Set Universe to match your software → Save
  • Assign each device a DMX channel (dimmer only — 1 channel per device)

Troubleshooting

Bridge won’t connect
  • Confirm the bridge IP is correct
  • Telnet Support is ON
  • Mac and bridge can reach each other (same VLAN/subnet or routed correctly)
  • Re-import Integration Report (copy only the report text)
Scenes not showing / not updating
  • Press Refresh in the Scenes window
  • Quit + reopen Lumeix after importing the report
  • Use longer fade times if fades feel choppy
